So, when I started writing full time again one of the first things I did was go back to my notebooks and reacquaint myself with some of my story ideas. And boy did Imdalind have a lot. One of which was the story about a boy who had illegal magic and ran a revolution. It tied into the Imdalind world that we caught a glimpse of in Spark of Vengeance and turned into a dark, magic-based, dystopian that I loved.
Early this year, as Academy based novels began to be in demand, that same story began to mutate, and then a voice put himself into one of the characters. And the guy wouldn’t shut up.
Which seems fitting as his father, Ilyan, wouldn’t shut up either.
And because of all of that.. I wrote twelve chapters before I knew it. And then those 12 chapters turned into more, and now it’s a beast that is ready to see the world.

Now, before you ask, this isn’t pushing back any current release dates. A few things had to get moved around do to other issues, and there were a few opportunities for this that I just couldn’t say no to.
