Well, yes the saga continues in that the story continues, but it’s also continuing in that the work I have been doing to continue to repair and expand the last few books is continuing at a steam rolling pace!
Follow that?
So, it’s no secret that I have been working on the last few books of the Imdalind stories to help them shine. It’s nothing big, just some changes to help repair some confusing bits and whininess. I can promise you that no plot or characters have been harmed in the work I am doing.
What I can promise you is that the books are going to be snazzier than they were before and that I am running woefully, pathetically late.
You see, I do this thing where I underestimate the time I have in a day. It’s either that or I seem to miscalculate my need for sleep.
It’s one or the other.
Probably sleep with the way I looked like a cross between punched and shocked all the time.
So, even though I am a bit, okay a few months, behind: I have big news!
The rewrite for Burnt Devotion is live and ready for you to update on all platforms!
Yes, I am just as excited as you all are. A lot of work went into this book to let it shine. So much work that it now has three extra chapters and an additional chunk of text that is going to make you fall in love with Wyn and the rest all over again.
So, there is another part to this, because if you remember I wasn’t just going to update Burnt Devotion, I was going to update Dawn of Ash and Crown of Cinders too.
But once I had finished Burnt Devotion and dove into Dawn of Ash I realized there was a few very big issues.
Big as in, it might take me a whole new book to fix some of these issues.
Don’t get me wrong, adding a whole new book in the middle of a series is risky business. And even the possibility is scary, but I had a bit of an issue.
You see, the audio books for Imdalind are already out, and while I am changing and rewriting a fair bit of the books, I can’t actually change too much without breaking the audio book link up, and I don’t want to do that because I know a lot of people who live and breathe by audiobook and I don’t want them to lose out.
So, me adding in 30k to a book was pretty much out of the question.
After asking and polling the readers in the Fan Club, I came to the decision to add a novella that could be read between Burnt Devotion and Dawn of Ash and would fit in nicely with the rewrites.
AND THUS BRAND OF BETRAYAL WAS BORN!
What’s worse than a city under siege?
An irritating father on a power trip.
It’s like the punchline to the worst childhood ever.
I may have spent my entire life wishing I could have my father back, but now that he’s here he can just head right back to where he came from.
He just won’t shut up about broken sights and Drak traditions and things that I can’t possibly understand. Mostly because he refused to tell me about them.
Thank god, Ilyan thinks he’s as much of a quack as I do. Well maybe not a quack, but he isn’t the leader of the Sain fan club. That role belongs to Ryland.
Ugh.
Let’s just hope too many more people don’t fall for his lies or I am going to pop him just like this zit that Edmund has trapped us in. And yes, it’s going to be just as gross.
Make sure you grab your copy while its on preorder for .99!
Except there was a problem, remember when I said that I underestimate myself. Well, this is one of those times. I am here to tell you that the snazzy little story that I had planned as a Novella has surpassed the 50k line and is crossing over into Novel territory.
Woops.
More Jos! More Ilyan! More irritating Sain! Okay, maybe that’s not a real reason anyone would want to read the book, but he does get punched… so worth it? Totally.
Right now you can get not only update your copy of Burnt Devotion, but you can grab Brand of Betrayal as a special pre-order price of .99. You want to get this now.
Because it comes out in like ten days or something.
Good gravy! Ten days! What was I thinking? I better cut out more sleep and get this bad boy done.
Just kidding, it’s already done and ready for launch.
Best yet? The new edition of Dawn of Ash will launch on the same day, so you can get your binge on. And trust me when I say you want to get your binge on.
I *may* have gone overboard on those kissing scenes.
2019 is going to be a great year for Imdalind. But all of that is in another blog post.
Before you head off to either buy your copy of Brand of Betrayal or update your copy of Burnt Devotion, there are a few differences between the old and new versions of Burnt Devotion that I want you to be aware of so you know if you have the right one:
1 – 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗖𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿
— The old versions either have a clown face, or Wyn in a yellow shirt.
— The new version has Wyn in a brown shirt
2. 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗽𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘀
— The old version has 23 chapters
— The new version has 26 chapters
3. 𝗡𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗕𝗼𝗼𝗸 𝗦𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀
— The old version does not list Brand of Betrayal in the series list
— The new version does.
4. 𝗗𝗶𝘀𝗰𝗹𝗮𝗶𝗺𝗲𝗿
— There is a disclaimer in the beginning that denotes the book as being the updated version.
That’s it for me, but stay tuned, because this blog is about to be hoppin!
